How does the proximity/location sensor work?

The Barracuda carry-on's proximity/location sensor enables you to locate your luggage anywhere in the world as long as a GSM cell phone signal is available.

Does it use GPS? No, the proximity/location sensor uses mobile phone radio towers to triangulate its position. This is less precise than GPS but contrary to GPS signals it will work inside buildings. A major advantage in airport situations!

In addition, you'll also be able to detect when your suitcase is near thanks to the Bluetooth proximity sensor.

The proximity/location sensor's battery can power the unit 2 weeks on a full charge.

Note: There are additional costs for location tracking.
